Every race depends on hundreds of people. Many careers in motorsport do not involve driving at all.

On the team

Engineers, mechanics, data analysts, strategists, and logistics staff design, build, and run the cars.

At the circuit

Marshals, race officials, medical crews and timekeepers keep events safe and fair. Volunteering as a marshal with your national motorsport authority is one of the most accessible ways to begin.

Around the sport

Journalists, photographers, broadcasters, marketers, and event organizers tell the stories and bring fans to the track.

Getting started

Study engineering, mechanics or media; join a local karting or car club; and contact your national motorsport authority (in South Africa, Motorsport South Africa) about officials' training.
